At Silent Echoes, your privacy is foundational — not an afterthought. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data. Ever.
What We Collect
Account information: Your email address and name, used to identify your account. Journal content: Your entries, reflections, and voice recordings are stored securely and are private to you. We do not read or analyze your personal journal content. Usage data: Anonymous, aggregated information about how features are used (e.g., which journaling modes are most popular). This never includes the content of your reflections. Device information: Basic device and app version data used for diagnostics and performance improvements.
How We Use Your Data
We use your information to: • Provide and improve the Silent Echoes app • Sync your journal data across your devices • Send optional in-app reminders (you can disable these) • Diagnose technical issues We do not use your journal content for advertising, profiling, or AI training.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
Silent Echoes does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Your reflections are yours alone.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Access is strictly limited. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed.
Your Rights & Controls
You have full control over your data: • Export your data at any time from Settings → Legal & Privacy • Delete your account and all data permanently from Settings • Opt out of anonymous analytics from Settings → Privacy Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable laws. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children's Privacy
Silent Echoes is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete that data.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of carefully selected third-party services to operate the App (such as cloud infrastructure and analytics). These services are bound by strict data protection agreements and are never given access to your journal content.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes within the App. The date of the latest revision is shown at the top of this page.
